MILLAMOLONG CHARITY FUND

A whopping $25,000 raised!

The numbers are in, the figures are tallied and triple checked and we can announce the outstanding result for our fundraising this year.

The local community spirit shown during this year’s polo carnival, which marked the 25th Anniversary of the not-for-profit Millamolong Polo Club, was evident in the staggering amount of $25,000 raised for a number of charities, on a local, national and international level. Since 1998 the Charity Fund has raised over $250,000.

As a not-for-profit organisation, money from the sales of our Cordial, merchandise, gate takings at events and other revenue is allocated amongst our selected charities to help them achieve their goals. Extensive research and due diligence is undertaken before such decisions are made. One of the most important things in deciding on these charities, for us, is that their administration costs are consistently kept below 10% and that spending is transparent.

The breakdown of the $25,000 raised is:

Riding for the Disabled (Orange Branch) Total donated - $6,000. These funds will help with their key needs and ongoing maintenance (including vet fees) of 10-12 horses.

Camp Quality Total donated - $10,000 for 10 children to go to camp. It costs $1,000 per child per camp (including siblings and individual carers).

Central West Cancer Research Total donated - $2000 towards treatment for 2 patients (adults and children).

Organisers of the 2015 polo carnival, the Millamolong Polo Social Committee which is made up of a merry band of volunteers, were delighted with the fundraising results from the polo weekend.

We are a registered Incorporated Not-For-Profit Sporting Club.

Each year Millamolong Australia and Millamolong Polo Club donate funds from sales of tickets to the polo, polo caps, sales of Milla Cordial and Millamolong merchandise, as well as donating funds directly from our amazing sponsors (listed throughout this website), who have generously allocated an amount of money from their sponsorship to the Millamolong Charity Fund.

In 2012, the Millamolong Charity Fund sent 100% of its proceeds to RDA Orange and CARE Australia for their Ethiopian Water Crisis.

In 2013, we supported the RDA Orange Branch once again who have worked tirelessly on the Millamolong Polo Club events for over a decade. We also supported CARE Australia, once again giving money for their Empowering Women & Girls Programme which is an initiative to help women and girls in some of the world's poorest communities.

In 2014, from our VOLVO weekend we raised $14,000 to support our friends at RDA Orange, CARE Australia and the Faraja Orphanage in Tanzania plus throughout the year we sent funds every quarter from our smaller events and merchandise sales. We were delighted to be mentioned in CARE Australia's Annual Report in 2013 and hope to continue to help them with specific programs.

In 2015 our team have once again been working away on what charities the Millamolong Charity Fund will support, and why. We want to make sure that every cent you donate - counts. The team look carefully at the admin fees of each charity we support so that we are getting our charity dollars maximum impact at the front line of the issue we are supporting.

In 2015 we are delighted to announce that we will be once again supporting our local RDA Orange Branch, and we will also have a cancer focus in 2015, supporting Camp Quality for their support for families affected by cancer and a local Orange based Cancer Research initiative.

Please help us support these charities by coming to our events and buying our products and make a difference to those less fortunate.

Follow us on Facebook and we will keep you closely posted!
